Women’s Veteran Summit 2026

This inaugural summit is focused on education, empowerment, and celebration, bringing together women veterans, service members, and community partners for a meaningful day of connection and resources. The event also honors the 78th anniversary of Women Veterans Recognition Day, commemorating the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act of 1948, passed on June 12.

Maria Gomez has always been a giver. During the Vietnam War, as a U.S. Army nurse, she gave all she had to give, devoting long hours tending to the physical and mental wounds of soldiers. Board of Supervisors Proclaims Women Veterans Recognition Day

On May 12, 2026, the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors officially proclaimed June 12, 2026, as Women Veterans Recognition Day, honoring the 1948 Act that allowed women to serve permanently in the U. S. Armed Forces. Members of Warrioress League 209 gathered for this momentous recognition of all women who served our nation.

WL209 leads Cinco de Mayo Parade

Warrioress League 209 proudly carried The Colors at the head of the Downtown Stockton parade on May 3, 2026.
Parade watchers saw the strength and presence of women veterans in our community.

Let Debbie Gifford, U.S. Army veteran and retired English teacher, teach you how to do it in a warm, inviting space. Debbie focuses on one skill each week, Students write for 20 minutes and then have the opportunity to share their work if they wish.
